Curtain rods hook slides

Post by Soonergirl66 »

I’ve removed the old curtains, (some original) and sewn up some new ones, but wanted to keep the hardware original. The traverse rods appear to be stainless steel or aluminum, but the the curtain hooks insert into slides that are some sort of steel or brass alloy. As you can see, they were fairly corroded. But after a soak for a few days in white vinegar, they cleaned up well. A couple of the end stops were missing, but we can improvise.

Those curtain rods are aluminum and are quite common. The slides are easily replaced, but keep the end keepers, those are a little harder to come by.

They worked fine for me, aside from needing something like 8 packages to replace all my carriers.
