Vent Trim Ring

Post by Jason »

My vent trim rings where toast by the time I got my trailer. And my attempts to remove the glued in screens only made it worse. So I decided to model some new ones up in Fusion 360, it took a couple of iterations. But here is what I ended up with.

The major change I made from the original design was to have the screen attached with spline like a normal screen, I want to be able to change it out whenever it gets nasty without breaking the ring.

Here is what it looks like 3D printed in PET plastic with the screen installed.

And here are some details of it installed

Looks Like a little Sanding/Exacto work might be needed to make it fit flush around the fan lever.

Nice work, Jason. Lots of skill in what you created.

My center fan was shaped like yours. It was inoperative when we bought the trailer and the vent cover leaked. I opted for a new 10-speed Maxxair ventilator.

Thanks! If anyone needs the STL files to print one drop me a line. They are too big to attach.

I would love to have that file. Not sure my printer is big enough to print all in one piece though.

Nice work and great idea with the spline.

I may be willing to buy a pair if you’d be willing to print and send? Mine are good now but they are getting brittle.
