My interest is really in the fridge while traveling.

I was considering putting in a dedicated wall plug specifically for inverter.

Some inverter makers have a remote ( wired or wireless) to shut the inverter off when not in use.

My inverter had a receptacle built in, so no need for a separate wall plug for the fridge.
