Hi folks! First of I want to thank the admin and moderators for having a forum for this site. I am letting you in on a secret. I am a spy. I don't own an Avion trailer but a 22 foot 1963 Avalair trailer. It was built in Baroda, Michigan, maybe 10 or 20 miles from the Benton Harbor Avion factory.
I am spying because the trailers are cousins of each other, and many parts and building techniques are the same. Three Avion engineers started the company which only lasted about three years.
I plan on beginning restoration beginning in the Spring of 2023. I want to keep it as original as possible, minus the asbestos floor tiles! I just bought it this summer after waiting more than 10 years from seeing it the first time.
I will be needing a lot of advice since this is the first trailer I have tried to restore. I want to do it right, that is why I am here.
