Second AC unit?

Contemplating/planning on adding a second AC unit in the rear bedroom instead of the existing fan. It's just too hot there without one. Has anyone seen this junction box before? It's just in front of the roof fan back there. Where does that wire go? Was there an option for a second AC unit?

I can’t help you with where that wire goes—maybe pop open the 120v panel and see if there’s an extra romex cable back there.

I imagine you’d need to upgrade to 50 amp if you want to be able to run 2 AC’s and other stuff at the same time. I only have a single AC in my 30R, but I did upgrade to 50 amp. It’s not that bad of a job.

Found out it is live and is connected to the right most breaker labeled as converter. I don't know if its mislabeled or if it's shared - I have not checked. But yea, I'll be replacing the old Parallax 7300 with Progressive Dynamics PD4060KV (most likely)

I bet that breaker is correctly labeled and powers your converter. Once you upgrade to 50 amp you can put the new AC on its own breaker, and the converter on a 15 amp breaker. That said, it’s probably on a 20 amp because it may currently feed the bathroom GFCI.

In case it helps, I ran 6 AWG romex from the new panel to an oversized plastic junction box (the kind you have the drill holes in yourself for the wire clamps) that’s close to where the electrical compartment is, and used Polaris style connectors to attach the 50 amp RV cord. This way, if/when I need to replace the RV cord, I can access it easily via the junction box.
