New to Avion or any other camper trailer

Post by SergioB »

Hi Avion family,
So we are a family of 4 that just bought a 1986 34w Silver Edition. It’s completely gutted on the inside and we plan to make it into our house. We will be for sure asking you guys some questions!

Welcome to the forum! You have undertaken an ambitious but rewarding project. Sometimes it's better to start from scratch than a complete teardown. We are all here to help!

Your biggest challenge is developing a wall and cabinet strategy that takes the curved walls into account. The good news is that Avions are not as aggressive on the curvature of walls as Airstream. But don't expect after-market cabinetry to conform to the wall profile.

I suggest developing a method of measuring the wall curvature (in degrees) relative to the floor. Develop your new re-mod plan in consideration of non-square walls.

Thanks Bob,
I have been actually thinking about that. I thought that I could use cardboard sheets, the big ones, and do a cutout that I could apply on the wood plank. I’ll try it. :geek:
