1961 T-27 tandem Axle spring size

Anyone know where I might find a leaf spring to replace the broken one on my 1961 T-27 tandem Axle? Camping trip coming soon...

Looks like six leaves and Eye to Eye length: 25-1/4". Do Avions have 3,500 lb axles? I found some five leaf ones that are rated at 3,500 lbs. Wish there were parts lists available for these old trailers.

Smoky, where do you live? Most larger towns/cities have trailer and axle shops. They might be a good source. Otherwise, to find the exact specs or at least a good source for them, try calling Chuck Cayo in Michigan at Cayo Repair Service. 269-463-5068.

His family built that trailer.

Maybe someone here will provide some more details.

I purchased my springs through Etrailer. Here "are a few 25-1/4" springs they carry. When you open the description for each spring, go to the bottom for the specifications and compare it to yours. They also offer the supporting pieces in the suspension system.

I managed to get the spring off today and it measured 26 inches eye to eye. I have read they stretch over time and considering this spring is 60 years old, I'm still not certain which size to purchase. Will try calling Chuck Cayo.

Our ‘88 30P has 4-leaf springs. It is tandem axle. It weighs roughly 6000# dry.

I recall replacing one while I had the suspension apart. I vaguely remember the spec was 25-1/4”. It was located on the curb side measured 25–3/4”. I decided to replace it because curb side takes the brunt of pot holes, debris and curbs.

I suggest taking the spring to a local suspension shop. They should be able to tell you the weight rating. If you are going to call Chuck, mornings worked best for me to make contact.
