Need some misc help

Per a previous post - I did purchase the 1970 26' Ultra I have been looking at. It is safely back here in Eastern VA. I do, though, need some advice on some items it needs. They are:

1) New mattresses (twins). The originals are gone - now it has some sort of MOTs (mattresses of torture) in it - no good. What have you tried that work well? I think some of the new thick ones will not work because the little shelve will hit our heads. I am pondering some of the ones like the "purple" or other mattresses.

2) It really needs new tailights. The originals are there although the lenses are cracked and rather opaque. Would like to go LED although really do not want to mod it much. Anything you have used that works well?

3) The "latch" that helps hold the door open is missing it's inner grommet. In other words (I do not know the right terms).... there is a small "tube" on the side (female) and a protruding piece on the door (male) which fits in it to hold the door open. There should be a piece or rubber (or something) in that "tube" which grabs the male portion. Nothing there. What can work to help this?

I think the only question I can come close to answering is for the rubber insert to hold the door open.

Look up Dorman 42015..... it is a PCV valve grommet that fits that....

Thank you... that is one thing my wife noticed yesterday - that the door would not stay open. I think her quote was "You ARE going to fix this... right??"

congratulations on your new trailer! sometimes for things like mattresses airstream replacement stuff can be found that works for Avions. (usually for $$$$) Our mattress is original, comfortable and clean, which is amazing. But we did buy a 3" foam topper for it. If and when we replace it, we will probably buy a combination of density from a nearby foam warehouse. they will cut and glue any combo you want. cover with a mattress cover and you have a mattress that fits.

my best advice for most questions would be to study the board index and check the wealth of information that is here. I've found that almost anything I need to know about my Avion is here somewhere. unlike facebook posts, help found here "stays put" and you can refer to it over an over. The more I read, the more I find and learn!

I have no doubt that with this forum's help, I would know how to do anything our trailer needed. not that I could do it myself, but I'd know how it should be done, anyway!

What DJ said is true, as is Razorbacks post. Regarding your trailer lighting, I don't have knowledge of your trailer first hand. Others here may be able to help. For the time being, your best bet is to hunt through the following websites. You'll find a wealth of products that will either fit or easily adapt to your trailer. Not just your lights.
