Well I went to pull the awning out again to fix the upper mounts and the metal roller cover started to peel off the mount on the roof. How the heck do you get those two mated back up? It’s only on one side toward the front.

I appreciate that. It looks to me that it is just pressed into the upper channel. Although I’m not sure how that would hold up to the stress of unrolling and rolling it back up.

It looks to me like there is a woven fibrous material on the upper edge of the awning, above the flexible aluminum pieces that cover the awning while stowed, that has a stitched hem in it. That hem is in that channel. you might use the flat, nail-pulling end of a small crowbar to open up that channel a bit, insert that hem, then maybe a rubber mallet to "form" the channel to put some grip on that hem.

Looking at mine made me realize that I might need to take a rubber mallet to better secure that edge on ours. Thanks for the question that made me look at it!

I will have to wait for the rain to stop here before I can get up there and put eyes on it. But from down below thats what I kind of see. Although from down low it looks like an aluminum piece is in the channel. But that could be totally wrong because I can’t see the top. I have a feeling it’s going to take some up and down the ladder time to get this back together. This all started with me wanting to remove the upper mount to clean and reseal them. They were/are loose, I have the front mount off and the rear is what’s holding the whole thing up. My lower front mount was wallowed out so I ended up removing the inner panel and adding washers and 1/4”x20 bolts instead of screws to hold everything in place. It’s not going anywhere now. Of course I won’t be able to remove it in the future either without removing the panel again but I don’t expect to ever have to do that.

I’m noticing my sliding arms for my awning are binding a little. I’ve wiped them down as per manual, but south Alabama rain/humidity ain’t helping matters. Anyone using a lube to slick them up that won’t attract dirt or leave a film to get all over anything. Any ideas would be appreciated as I deploy and stow it several times a week. Thanks

Are you already using an aerosol silicone lubricant?

Ah... I went and reviewed the manual. Even thought it says the telescoping bars don't need any lubrication, I beg to differ. Clean and lube them with that silicone lube. You should notice a big difference.
