Newbie in Indiana
Hello all,
My wife and I just braved a 7-8 hour drive from West Central Indiana to the Iowa-Wisconsin border to collect our first ever camper, a 1973 28’ Travelcader. It pulled home better than I could have imagined, but there is definitely some work ahead, and I’m going to need to lean on someone with much more knowledge than myself. I’m still probably considered a young’n by most here at 32 years young, but I just couldn’t resist the classic aircraft vibe of satin aluminum, and I love bringing new life to things made to last a lifetime. I have two young children (4 years old and 7 months old) and our family recently began making a few camping trips in an extended family RV and the kids love it. My wife grew up camping, but I don’t have a ton of experience with it. The trailer we bought I think is in a decent place to start from, but still has a pretty extensive to do list. There has definitely been some water inside, as the front left corner is of the subfloor is soft and will need replaced, and there is a cabinet that has some water damage. There are also a few inner panels missing from the shower that I’ll have to figure out something to do with. Oh yea, and no AC, so I’ll need to figure out to determine the best way to add that. These are the initial problem areas on top of the general rehab that will need to be done to get all the gunk and old sealants off the exterior and get it sealed up again. I’m looking forward to hopefully mining the knowledge of the members here. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi, Justin! Welcome to the forum!
Congratulations on your Avion! There are definitely people here on the forum that can help you with anything you need. I have never done any floor work, but lots of others have.
Good luck with your project, and keep us posted.

Hi Justin! Welcome to our multi user shared hallucination and addiction!
Many here, including myself, have done floor and bathroom work. While my trailer is newer than yours, I believe all the same principals apply. Good luck! We enjoy lots of pictures!
