Looking for an Avion/Cayo C11

Post by sherbst »

Hello,

I am looking for an Avion/Cayo C11 truck camper. Looking for one with a good quality structure and exterior (interior doesn’t matter as much).

Thanks

I would love to have a C11!!

I will keep my eyes open, but I have not seen one recently..... They show up occasionally.

I’m a 16 year old and my parents and I are hoping to find an Avion for me to restore to travel in and possibly live in.

How cool is that?

I hate to say it but you just missed one in San Antonio a month or so ago, it went for $1,600... I should’ve bought it just knowing someone would come along, but alas, my children need a father and my wife would’ve ended my existence if I showed up with another project.

If I see one near I’ll gladly aid in inspection and retrieval. If you find one in Texas let me know.

Bummer. Good to know that they come up though (and that your wife hasn’t ended your existence). I’m fine with waiting a bit so hopefully another one will come up soon. I appreciate the offer, and if it happens to be in Texas I’ll let you know.

Since you are considering a C-11..... would this fit the bill? Looks like a good deal to me.

I really appreciate the response, but I really like the aluminum body like the Airstream. Before discovering the Avion c11 I briefly explored what it would be like to attach part of a wrecked old airstream to the back of a chassis cab truck like the ford f550, but this would definitely be a lot easier.

That pictured Avion motorhome is aluminum skinned, but it is painted.

Also keep your eyes open for an earlier Avion motorhome called a Motorvator. That one is silver. You might contact Chuck Cayo in Michigan to see if he knows of any of those mentioned models are available.
