nothing new

Post by DJ18 »

right now, we have very little contact with people who have like interest. we love Avions here.
Is everyone ok?
we have gathered a flock of chickens, and planted a garden. get curb side pick up as often as possible.
I am dying to go camping. Thankfully, when I sleep out in our amazing Avion, I don't have to for quarantine reasons. everyone we know is healthy and well, if lonely.

its a strange situation, on line is our only social interaction.
so let's interact!!

I am working from home, going in as needed. Was needed at 4am Tuesday, got home at noon, took a nap (in the Avion!!!), ate dinner with some friends, then back to work at 9PM, got home at 01:30. I will sleep in until 10:30 or so.

We, too, are itching to go camping.... ANYWHERE!!!

On the way home today, I stopped and talked to a guy about a 1968 Chrysler 300 he had for sale......... it's a tempting project, but I don't need it. That old Chrysler is longer than my 1995 F250!!!! It sure won't fit in our garage. But, MAN, that 440 cu. in. V8 would be a HOOT! He has all of the pieces and parts to put it back together. New carpet. Floor pans are immaculate!

Dang that’s a sweet ride.

I’m in the film business as some of you may recall. My Avion has graced several productions including The Son and several commercials. Work has dried up for me for the most part but last week one of my longtime clients Whataburger came up with a great campaign to advertise their new delivery service. Several of us around central Texas submitted pictures of the front doors we have available to us and on a whim I included a shot of my Avion. They picked five doors total out of almost 50 and the Avion was one of them!
My wife and I were the “talent” and we shot our segment with the director, agency and client on a zoom video call. It was pretty surreal.

Keep an eye out for the commercial if you live in a Whataburger state...

Way cool Ian! I might make the local Whataburger do a re-enactment!
@Razorback I nearly did the very same with a 1967 Chrysler Imperial. It was all there, beautiful and cheap.

nice car! and the price of gas right now would make it practical!
my son in law is in the film industry also, a few movies but mostly commercials, and no work. he's home helping my daughter with the kids and her new baking business. It's sure tough for that industry. Avions are born for photos as well a camping.
Take care at work, those of you who go, and look for disbursed camping in the national forest!

Texas state parks are now open, but still no overnight camping.

It’s incredible. I’m happy to share the recipe.

Here's a funny......

This has happened with our 1981 Bronco, our 1969 Falcon wagon, and I'm sure it would come up with this one: My wife happily stays at home, no job. She's cheap, I'm frugal.....
She would ask, " What kind of gas mileage does it get?"

My canned response is: "If you need to worry about gas mileage, you need to get a JOB!"

That usually puts it to bed.......

I'm right there, too...... "nearly".

I did send the guy a text yesterday and offered to help him do whatever he needs to do, if he needs another pair of hands.
