Entry steps
Entry steps
I have been meaning to post this for anyone needing to replace the entry steps on their Avion. Elkhart Tool & Die in Elkhart, IN.
https://www.elkharttool.com/double_rv_steps.html
This looks identical to the ones on our 1987 34W. I will need to check the width of ours...
I have sent an email to them to see if they were the supplier for the original steps on our Avions.

Re: Entry steps
Paul, I know this thread is a little old, but what about these? Heck, anyone on here - has anyone ever used entry steps like these? I hear they are very stout. They are installed very differently than normal steps. Seems like some modification to the entry door threshold would be necessary, but I like that they are rigid and just stow away easily.

Re: Entry steps
Hi, Nelson. I have seen that style of entry step but have zero experience with them. I like the design, and wonder how well they might work with our Avions.

Hi Nelson,
Donald Jonas, who is on here somewhere has a similar style from morryde.

Re: Entry steps
I debated installing beefier steps, but I gave these a try and they actually work pretty well. I purchased two—one for each side of the bottom step.

Re: Entry steps
Thank you for that suggestion..... I have been wondering about those same products.
Our steps are good and strong. The only time I even think about them is when I am toting my 2-gallon air compressor in or out of the trailer. Some more stability would be nice!

@Razorback Did you ever get an answer from the folks in your OP?

Re: Entry steps
@Salty Your question reminded me that I had not heard back from Elkhart Tool and Die...... so I called them.
I got an “I can’t verify” kind of answer. But looking at their products, knowing they have been around forever, and comparing them to the steps I have, I would bet they are the original manufacturer.
