Open discussion.
What are your thoughts on the Dexter E-Z Flex equalizers?
I think I'm going to order a set

Better to trash what’s there and upgrade to DEXTER Tor-Flex. About six parts versus dozens. Far greater wheel travel AND fully independent of all others.

Ideally, the wheel face is on the same plane as the outermost part of the vertical trailer wall above it. That distance corresponds to the brackets which hold a leaf to the axle. Leaf is unstable by comparison. Why UHaul trailers line up the walls with these brackets. Your Svuon doesn’t.

Ride, braking and stability all improved.

With a leaf system now thirty years old or more COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY is required. Not one fastener still in use. This isn’t a lawnmower trailer.

Order the TorFlex with disc brakes. No use doing it later.

Were this trailer still in production, that’s what would be on it. Anti-lock disc.

TUSON CORP for that.

Zanetti for installation.

Any of you demanding drum brakes on your TV?

Gee, why?

Same for leaf spring versus torsion flex axles.

(Sorry. Repeating myself. Won’t delete)

Take it to the DEXTER dealer. Measure for TORFLEX axles. Get optional disc brakes.

No change you can make will do more for safe travel. And, resale.

7-parts per axle vs 115 (should get your attention).

TUSON Antilock module, their brake controller and electronic anti-sway (to TT).

How it would be today if new.

(You running a tow vehicle with 4-whl drums?)

Tires balanced on a Hunter-9700 to Mercedes/Lexus spec or refuse them. Then CENTRAMATIC balancers.

Alloy wheels if you don’t have them already.

AMERICAN RACING “Outlaw” was factory stick in mine in 1989. Correct offset, load rating and patterns. You can do 15” or 16”.

While Tor-Flex is likely a great install, I left the suspension stock with the addition of the EZ-Flex. I was already too deep into rehabing the original suspension - ie, axles sand blasted, new springs + Shocks.
I did go with the National bearing seal upgrade to 413470. Nice seal.
Belly pans are all in but one and the gas line has been run + tested.
It's been a busy weekend

Are you taking your trailers to Lemans or just going to a campground?

It does look more aerodynamic, no? :P
Just restoring some badly abused belly pans and restomodding the suspension.
This was a case of mission creep. I had a leak at my grey water tank. In order to access the tank, as many of you know, requires dropping the belly pans above the axles.
And then my OCD kicked in.
In summary, belly pans changed, trailer whip changed, butt splices replaced with a terminal strip, axles sand blasted + painted, new shocks , springs ,EZ flex kit, insulation on the grey tank, LP gas black pipe replaced and rubber LP gas hose replaced,
Here's the punch line. It took 30 seconds to fix the grey tank leak.
