Spare tire

I've converted my 30P to 16 inch wheels and tires and was wondering what you all think about keeping the 15 inch spare. Since it would only be used in an emergency and for just enough miles to get to a tire store, I would think with the adjusta ride that it would work.

Hey Avionstream.

Most of the Airstreamers keep the best 15" for the spare when they go to 16 inch and they do not have our axles. You are correct in that you can make it to a fix-it place.

Best regards,

Russ

Yea, I saw that on the Airforums too. I would think with our suspesions it would work even better. Thanks for the feedback

I upgraded to 16s, but for the little extra expense went with a 16" spare. I like having an LT tire as a spare so I don't have to worry about driving any distance on an ST tire.

I have a 30R, so I'm not sure whether it's comparable to yours. I bet it is, but hopefully someone with your trailer can answer definitively. Anyway, I used these 16" wheels on mine....4.25" center bore.

I bought a set of Mt classic III bullet hole aluminum rims
They were 16x8 5.5 and the only thing that didn't fit was the center hub
I was off by 1/8 of an inch all the way around the center
So now I ordered same thing but with a 4.1 inch center hub opening hope it works
I measured the diameter and I was around 3 1/2 inches
But guess not many wheel makers have that size center
