the kitchen

Post by DJ18 »

I'm in love with the Avion kitchen, I love to cook when we are camping. like everyone else, I'm sure, all our campers are stocked with all kitchen necessities, staples and spices. one thing that is especially at home in the new Avion--a vintage corning ware percolator for coffee. (blue flower) for my quick morning brew, I prefer using an aeropress. love that first cup early in the morning when camping. I love the slide out pantry shelf and keep it stocked with some canned foods but mostly dry foods in small containers. something I'll take in this camper is a 3 qt instant pot. so fast and great flavors in a very short time. It will run on our little generator. the oven in our avion works great, looks like it's never been used. the stove too. I don't use a microwave camping, but there is a place for one. I'm really excited about the kitchen.

the little baby Q is where we cook mostly when camping. grill meat and veggies, even heat cans of beans to go along with the burgers or hot dogs, maybe the very occasional fresh fish....

We have only taken one short trip with our new Avion. but tomorrow, we are headed out on a longer trip, loosely determined destination and time frame.

AAGGHHH I have camping fever!

You got it baaaaad!

To me, everything tastes better when cooked in the Avion! I AM one of those who actually use the appliances...... but some don’t.

I have it bad, I know.

also the fridge just amazes me. I should knock on some wood, but it works perfectly! the sinks are a big improvement over the small plastic ones they put in newer campers.

I'd about given up on getting an avion and was looking at campers with more space and maybe a slide. except for the end kitchen floor plans, the kitchens were so cramped and impractical. the avion is such a relief!

Would you post a pic of your slide out pantry shelf?

Also, where are you keeping your generator when you tow?

Our generator is a Honda 1000 and it rides in the back of the truck

Nice! My 30R has a closet pantry, but not a slide out. Is that the 25H?

It is the 25h, 1985.

I make a lot of coffee too. So often we don’t have electric sites, I have a pour over cone, the aero press a French press to choose from. The Corning ware percolator is mostly for when we camp with a other coffee drinkers. Bunns are great coffee makers!
