Trailer Brakes
As I've mentioned in previous posts, we are taking our 1st long-distance trip today (MI to GA) in our restored '88 30P. My last step is to verify the amount of braking force for the trailer brakes. The brakes and hub assys are all new but will likely need some break-in cycling. I had installed Dexter "never-adjust" brake hardware in the process.
My question has to do with how much force to apply to the trailer brakes though the controller. Right now, I have the "gain" set at 8.5 (10 is max). When I depress the built-in slide bar below the dash, the trailer brings everything to a reasonably quick stop at 25mph without smoking the tires.
Any feedback on what is the appropriate set up? Thanks in advance!

Re: Trailer Brakes
Without looking at the doc that came with our brake controller, it sounds like yours is set good.
I will find the doc....

Re: Trailer Brakes
Thanks. We’re on the road. The Avion is towing well. Negligible sway.
