Made it to Red Rock Canyon yesterday in Hinton, OK for another annual trip with friends. It was an exceptionally windy drive across Oklahoma. A front had gone through with strong winds out of the north. Extremely glad we have our Avion and a good tow vehicle! Checking in in front of us was a class C motorhome from California. The lady told me that her main awning was torn off, again, while driving across Oklahoma. Another item that I am thankful for on the Avion.... nice awnings that are built and secured well for travel down the road!

I would like to recommend this place to anyone traveling on I-40 across Oklahoma. Exit 101, then south maybe 5 miles.

Met a couple while walking this morning.... they are from Florida (NATIVES, no less!!) and are parked nearby in an Escape travel trailer. They previously owned a 1959 Airstream and took it all over the US. They also had a newer AS... 2007, I think? They said that was an awful trailer, poorly built. They finally fixed what needed fixed and sold it! They know about Avions, Silver Streaks, and Streamlines. Nice folks, and I hope to keep in touch with them. They have recently been in our neighborhood in the Bentonville, AR area. They stayed at Beaver Lake at the Prairie Creek campground.

We made it home Sunday evening with just enough daylight left that I could see to back the Avion into it’s spot. Great day for a drive! This is our longest-distance trip that we take, so far...... 320 miles each way.

I noticed a BUNCH of RVs on the road Sunday..... all types...... but in the 6 years we have had our Avion, I have yet to see another one on the road!

Note to self: get the propane cylinder that has been in use refilled before our next trip.....

(Speaking of propane.... the “new” furnace worked very well! Mostly used the Wave 8 radiant heater or the Vornado electric heater/fan.)

Made it here yesterday late afternoon. Looks like we're in for a week of beautiful weather.

Propane is topped off. Last night we ran our new Vornado heater/fan and kept the trailer very comfortable. I know my wife was good and cozy...... I actually woke up feeling too warm early this morning. Crawled out from the covers and went back to sleep.
