Replacing tear drop light fixtures - 66 Sportsman

Has anyone replaced the entire tear drop light fixture? Or, is it possible to just replace the light bulb holder? Any advice would be much appreciated. The west coast air has done a number on my light show! Kevin

I imagine you can just replace the light bulb holder. Do you have a pic of the wiring inside and the holder?

It's pressed into the fixture. Apparently the ground is through the fixture to the body of the trailer and a single wire goes to the base of the bulk holder. I believe the bulb is a BA9S. I don't see how to remove it without potentially loosing the wire in the wall insulation of the trailer body. I'd like to practice on a fixture not installed but do not have one.

Yes, a lot of those lenses ground that way. Can you get a pic that just shows the the bulb holder inside the fixture?

See attached. I've cleaned it up with Navel Jelly so the rust is no longer present. This is a before picture.

I’d be inclined to replace them with the LED from Vintage Trailer Supply since you wouldn’t have to mess with replacing bulbs.

Thanks, I saw that too but would prefer to fix the old one if possible.
