Replacement AC on my 1986 34W

Post by Jtholland757@att.net »

My original Dou-Therm 13.5k BTU compressor has given up the ghost. I’m wanting to replace the whole unit with another 13.5, or 15.0. I’ve read some reviews on the RecPro with heat pump, which has got me interested. Anyone have any experience with them, or any other brands such as Dometic, Coleman, etc. I want to keep the low profile, and lose the noise if possible. I’ll be replacing inside box also. Not interested in mini splits. Appreciate any info out there.

I installed two of the rec pros on a step van. I don't have anything to compare them to but they work. They had to replace both covers as they were damaged, and I'm not sure they were damaged shipping or during boxing at the factory. I wouldn't get too excited about them and probably look at what is available if I were to buy more. I'd also get simple. The electronics on those things with the remote, etc. is beyond my needs. Be careful whatever you get on the install, that is the important part. Home depot has a heavy material lift they rent out I'd probably look into to deport and install the a/c's.
