New 30p Owner

Post by Texasunit »

Hello! Just picked this up a few days ago and thought I'd share. All of the remodeling was done by the PO including new Dometic fridge and A/C which is pretty essential for being in Texas. Some things id like to tackle first are sealing up the roof/ replacing the fans, inspect the tanks for any leaks or cracks and possibly remove the black water tank (I'm planning on a composting toilet), and removing and replacing the old water heater with a tank-less (figured I would re-do the plumbing with PEX while at it). Everything seems to work beautifully and am really looking to putting in a lot of preventative work. Let me know if there are any other things I should be looking out for.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! You will find good people and sound advice here.

We have a '88 30P we finished restoring last year. I installed Pex plumbing and a tank-less water heater. Let me know when you are ready to take this on!

The window seals are definitely one of the first things on the list. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

That is a beautiful interior! Someone thought of and executed a nice plan.

Do you know the condition of the axel bearings/races and brakes?

Was admiring your shower curtain. Is it on a tension rod? If so could you take a photo for me. We are trying to replace ours!

@Sylvia86
I found the the existing track for the shower curtain was inadequate, so I installed this:

Also noticed the updated roof vent! Did you install this? If so can you provide info on it?

That is a Fantastic Vent fan, and to my knowledge it came stock on my '87 34v. The opening is 14"x14". I will say this much. If it didn't come stock, a PO installed it.
