Avion checklist

Bored this afternoon, so I thought I’d write up a prospective buyer’s guide for inspecting an Avion prior to purchase. Some items are a bit superfluous. Some are redundant. Much of this is pertinent to any RV.
I mentioned you guys for input. I'd like to make this into a document for sticky. Thoughts?

Avion Checklist
Exterior:
Window seals – separated at the glazed corners?
Screw covers intact? Rolling up/separating in the radiused corners?
Skin:
Oxidized? Heavily? Moss on the skin?
Dents? Particularly around wheel wells. Could be signs of a tire blow out and sheet metal damage.
Rear storage area – is the seal intact? Wood rot at the bottom center towards the edge?
All covers present? Water heater, Refrigerator.
Reflectors X6. Amber and red. Present?
LP Tanks. Current certification? Remote sensor present?
LP regulator Functional? Rubber LP feed hose weather checked?
Roof.
Sealed? Alumibond/rubberized coating? Black tar asphalt seal?
TV Antenna – present or removed?
Radio antenna - present or removed?
Vent covers intact?
Tires:
Age? More than 3 years for ST series tires and they need to be replaced.
Weather checked/dry rot?
Bearings repacked recently
Springs – cracked?
Brakes Functional?
Running lights/tail lights not cracked and working?

Awnings.
Are all awnings present? Roll out easily? Retract fully? Rips/tears? Stitching integrity? Stained?
Front Awning arms present and undamaged?
Front Awning mounts, where they are attached to the skin – sealed, undamaged? This is a source of water intrusion.
Rub rail decal – peeling, flaking? (just eye candy, but still…)
Rub rail inserts present and not shrunken?

Frame.
View through storage compartment doors. Pay close attention in the black tank area. Rusted? Rotted?
Rear of the frame at the rear bumper area. Rusted? Rotted?
Battery
Battery box present or absent? Condition?
Battery present or absent? Condition?
Battery cables – corroded, clean, frayed?




Interior
12 volt lighting functional? Rust deposits in the light covers (indicates roof leaking)?
Fluorescent, incandescent or LED lighting?
Appliances
Refrigerator working? 2 way/3 way/residential?
AC working?
Heater Working?
Water heater working?
Water pump working?
Gas stove working?
Microwave working?
Water damage to cabinets? Cabinet veneer peeling?
Curtains – present or absent? Valences present or absent? Condition?
Window blinds installed vice curtains?
Weather gauges (Temp/Humidity/Barometer) present? Condition? Functional? (This is a bonus in my opinion)

Plumbing
Grey (polybutyl) pipe? PEX piping? Copper piping?
Faucets leaking?
Water damage under sinks?
Tub/shower cracked?
Vent fans working?
Vent covers extend & retract easily/smoothly?
Inspect the front and rear corners for signs of water damage. Soft spots/Peeling vinyl flooring? (a sign of water damage)
Inspect the floor at the door entry for soft spots/water damage
Look under mattresses/bed frames for signs of water damage.
Look below windows for signs of water damage.
Toilet functional? Leaking at the base? Holds water after a flush?

Electrical
30-amp or 50-amp service?
Blown fuses in the power center?
Tripped breakers? Breakers trip when engaged?
Radio present? Functional?
GFCI outlets installed? Tripped or live?
Light switches at the door all work?
Light fixture covers not cracked/yellowed?
LP gas leak detector installed? Functional?
Fire extinguishers present? Charged?
Smoke/Fire Alarm Present? Functional?
Control center working? Tank monitors respond correctly?
Switches at the power center turn on water heater and fresh water pump?
Power cord for hook up condition? Not cut/frayed and functional?




Tanks
Black tank empty of debris?
Black/grey water/fresh water tanks don’t leak?
Black/Grey tank valves operate easily and don’t leak?
Fresh water dump valve doesn’t leak?

Maybe rank these in importance or cost somehow. Some of these would not make me hesitate to buy a trailer while others are deal breakers.

Good idea. Or maybe have top 10 items listed first (Frame, floor, appliances, tires, etc)?

-SHOCK ABSORBERS... PRESENT? CONDITION?
-SQUEEZE CHECK ALL STORAGE COMPARTMENT DOORS ESPECIALLY AT THE BOTTOM, THESE CAN ROT OUT.
-COUPLER CONDITION

Awnings.
Are all awnings present? Roll out easily? Retract fully? Rips/tears? Stitching integrity? Stained?
