1989 30P rear floor rot

I have some floor rot at the extreme rear of the coach in the dropped down area in the spare tire compartment.
It looks like it happened sometime ago but is severe enough that the piece of wood that the compartment door screws into is compromised. Has anyone else done any repairs in this area?
I'm thinking about using Total Boat Epoxy on it to give the strucure some strength. Then capping it off with some aluminium angle and plate.

I had the same, which turned into some serious scope creep. You don’t know till you start digging I am afraid.

Mine had/has several - they are hard to all find sometimes. In the rear bath area the biggest leak was the awning attachments (top and bottom of street side), followed by leaks on the awning attachment lower pads for the rear window. Those leaks started rotting things from the outside-in around the lower belt line. I think my hot water also leaked at some point.

However, another big one I just found last weekend end was some weeping / capillary action on the street side lower rear clearance light that I finally isolated and will have to fix with some better gaskets. I still had my inside sheet metal removed in one place because that rear channel kept filling up with water in really heavy rains. So during our last downpour I just stayed out there with a flashlight until I could see a tiny stream running down into the lower wall from right below the light. I had to take out some of the insulation to finally see it. The trick for me was to angle the trailer different ways to get the run off water to flow differently to consistently trigger leaks so they were more pronounced.

Honestly, everything with a hole or seam in the shell that is original can leak so I am on the long journey of addressing them one by one with new seals or eternal bond tape. The rear hatch was leaking some, but I sealed that all up since I removed the storage area and gave up that space for the bathroom.

I think if your you tube video was the right one, you don’t have awnings so that may make it easier and narrow things down some and lights, seams, and windows can be your focus. My roof items such as vents and fans were easy fixes, and they turned out to not be my issue.

There is lots of collected advice here on this forum on leaks that I have read over the last several months, and it just takes some time and work to fix them all. It’s just a feature we have to deal with, but I know several members have leak free trailers after lots of work.

My awnings are off for re covering but i do have all the brackets.
Far too cold and snowy here to caulk but it will be job#1 in the Spring.
