Condensation under mattress

Post by KYAvion »

So first off, I fortunately haven’t had condensation under the mattress in my 30R and I do quite a bit of winter camping. However, I’ve read of many Airstreamer’s experiencing problems with condensation in a FB group. While I haven’t had any issues, I’m debating putting something under the mattress as a precautionary measure. One product I’ve read about is Hypervent. I also wondered if simply placing a piece of 1” foam board (R-value of 5) would do the trick. Any thoughts?

The more I think about this, the less of an issue I think it is with our Avion trailers. Avions are better insulated than Airstreams, so I think there is less chance of a warm to cold contrast to create condensation. Plus, at least in my 30R, the only place the mattress touches an exterior wall is along the head of the mattress.
