entry step

Post by russedgar »

Can someone tell me how to remove the entry step on a 1984 30R? I want to powder coat it.

Thanks,

Russ

Russ-

Here's what I remember:

Remove the sheet aluminum panning from beneath the stairs by drilling out the rivets. The stair assembly uses two pieces of angle iron for support; they are bolted to the trailer main frame and the floor. The frame provides the primary anchor point; the floor is the secondary point (I think elevator bolts here). The assembly is pretty cumbersome. A jack or stands might be in order.

I would like to find a means of attaching nylon strips where the stairs fold into its pocket.

Thank you, Bob.

I have a good jack and lumber to make blocking stands.

I have the trailer lifted enough to work under drilling out the rivets.

Best regards,
