1987 34W / Norcold N841 Fridge: installed “Fridge Fix” fan

Post by Razorback »

Reference this thread for when we received our Smart RV Products Fridge Fix: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=721

Got it installed this evening. It was amazingly simple putting it in this particular fridge (Norcold N841). It gets it’s 12VDC from the original interior light, and grounds to the fins. It has it’s own switch on the fan assembly, and the original interior light still works as it did. Depending on your preference, the original interior bulb can be removed, leaving only the blue LED lights, or left in. I will probably find an LED equivalent for that bulb.

I like it, and I expect that between that fan on the inside, along with the fans I installed in the chimney behind the fridge, the fridge should do an even better job..... and not ice up the inside fins.

Will do. Later this month we get to go to Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma for an extended weekend. July, Oklahoma, hot, humid...... normal summer weather..... ought to be a good test. Glad to have the roof coated white, along with the fridge chimney fans...... I finally have it the way I want it!

Have you noticed whether your fridge stays cooler now in really hot temps?

Thanks for the reminder..... I really missed the boat on getting this updated!

Yes, the Fridge Fix appears to make a big difference. Not only with keeping the fins clear, but also with the overall cooling of the entire inside of the fridge.

With the Fridge Fix inside, and my thermostatically controlled fans in the chimney behind, the fridge works very nicely. I think we are getting as much as we can out of the fridge.

I highly recommend both!
