Avion tires
Avion tires
I bought these tires for our Avion last summer per a friend's recommendation. Wanted to share this info, as others might find it useful.

This is an LT (light truck) tire, for 15" wheels, with 2096# load rating, and made in USA.
I bought them a few months ago, so no long term report yet. I will update this thread as needed.

Re: Avion tires
As long as the weight rating is high enough, they should be excellent. That's not a high enough rating for my 30p allowing for variances.
Re: Avion tires
For those with 16" rims looking for an alnerative to Michelins, I've had good luck so far with Cooper HT3's in a 225 75 R16.

Re: Avion tires
I mounted Firestone sixteen inchers on my 30p.
Re: Avion tires
Right. My Avion's GVWR is only 7500# (gross axle ratings 7000#), so 4196# (2096 X 2) tire ratings per axle is fine for my trailer.Avionstream wrote:As long as the weight rating is high enough, they should be excellent. That's not a high enough rating for my 30p allowing for variances.

Only thing that keeps me from getting such relatively uncommon size is availability. Yes you’ll have a spare but if you blow two tires.....what are the chances a tire store will have that tire size.Rostam wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2016 6:22 pm I bought these tires for our Avion last summer per a friend's recommendation. I would go for a 235/75/15 since the factory size is a 225/70/15 trailer tire it’s not a huge step up and it’s a very common LT tire. I just recently put new trailer rated tires on my trailer. When these age or wear out I’ll be installing LT 235/75/15 as I decided I dont want to go buying tires and new wheels to step to 16s
