Last trip of ‘18 and first of ‘19

Post by RISK »

Sitting by the fire here at Garner State Park. It’s about 38 degrees and the Avion is occupied by a sleeping 3 yo, a Legoing 7 yo and a stew making wife. Furnace just up and won’t start a couple weeks ago, no fan, nothing. Space heater is doing us fine and less moisture and propane use.

Did a cool mod to our rear bed (street side double) so that it turns into a queen pretty quick. 7 yo sleeps on the counter back there and the rest of us on the bed. Stows away easier/quicker than the dinette.

I’ll detail the bed mod in another post...

There’s something about winter camping that’s tough to beat. Have fun!

The only thing I like about winter camping is that I know I'll be in Florida in a couple of days.
Last winter it was 16 deg in Atlanta. Yuk!!!

Heat, humidity, unrelenting sun I can deal with... not so much the mosquitos.
I’ll take mid 30’s and hardly any people. Plus, it’s nice having a fire when you need one.

Sounds like fun.... ALL of it! When I was a kid I had a lot of fun going places with our family in various models of travel trailers. When I hear stories like yours, it makes me glad knowing that you are making some great memories with YOUR family!

Our last trip was mid-December...... counting the days until our first outing in 2019! We were making a first stab at 2019’s schedule just last night!
