So I picked this cool old vintage suitcase up with hopes I could pull it apart to make a new battery box for our trailer. If the dimensions don't work out then I guess it will become our new travel luggage for trips up to our Kula Hem.

I like that!

Are you going to try to use it as-is, or will you have to cut and re-rivet for a custom box?

I'm hoping to be able to use the top and bottom of the suitcase as is and then make a new middle and rivet it all back together.

I'm going to be swapping out my 2-12v batteries this winter for 2-6v golf cart batteries. The current battery box doesn't look like it will be able to handle them. Plus it has a make shift lid that isn't very secure our weather resistant.

I'll be going back up to the Kula Hem next weekend so I can get some measurements.
