Whatisit?
On my trip last month across the USA via Interstate 10, I stopped in Kerrville, Texas. They have an incredible city park campground that I highly recommend to all RVers. BTW visit Fredricksburg, Texas while there and also drive to Bandera and eat at O.S.T. Restaurant too. I digress.
When I got back to camp after an outing there was the oddest vehicle I ever saw. Later the owner of this contraption came over and visited. He wanted to show me photos of a rig like his that a guy actually ran at Bonneville and holds a record. I don't know what class it could be. Anyway the photos he showed me were of a semi truck that had an Avion like mine (34 foot) built onto the frame. I was so curious about his rig that he invited me to come to his campsite for a full tour. I grabbed a bottle of Central California wine and presented him the gift. I then got to meet Charlie and Donna. If you ever see this rig go over and ask about it. Charlie is a retired long haul trucker and he actually designed and built this from a Kenworth, a Volvo, Scrap parts and and Airstream. He enjoys talking about it. He told me that in order to get it licensed as an RV he had to cut a passage from the cab into the Airstream, The whole thing is so well designed and so clean that when he opened up the engine compartment you could serve food on it. It is an impressive engineering feat. I have attached some photos I snapped. The tanks that are mounted under the Airstream are not what they seem. They are actually storage compartments or access panel covers.

Re: Whatisit?
Interesting. That is actually an Airstream on the truck.
I have seen another one that DID have an Avion carried like that.
The things people do!
