Not much progress. It's been raining cats and dogs. Got my truck stuck in my back yard because it's the consistency of oatmeal. Stupid aftermarket locking hub wouldn't lock so no 4WD
On a side note not one leak anywhere. And it's been raining a lot. Everything is dry

What sort of replacement parts are you referring to? A lot is standard stuff, but things like panels would have to be purchased from Cayo Repair in Michigan.

Re: 1989 Avion 34XB project
More like outside trim stuff and window shades or even drawer hardware
Re: 1989 Avion 34XB project
Ok so far wanted to update. Been working on the trailer.
I’m not really big on spending money when I can rebuild the part or fabricate one.
I have repaired all the lower fiberglass, doors and gelcoat new storage hatch handles and hinges. New LED lights and had recertification and new valves on the propane tanks. The old valves were the non safety ones and couldn’t get them filled.
Went through the gas lines electrical and furnaces.
Resealing the roof seams with seam tape.
New awning straps to be ordered and installed
Removed rear bumper due to a ton of rust and I will be redoing that. I will not put the rubber cover back on it. I’ll have pics of the job.
New center caps and will be buying bearing buddies. Probably will redo the brakes too.
I’m going through the body molding trim and will be cleaning it and reinstalling it. The old screws were rusted so a lot of work taking stuff off.
I will have a repair on the front window plastic shade/rockguard instead of buying new. I’ll have pics of that also.
The roof vents I will be fiberglassing the cracks to save a few bucks.
Window shades are basically a measure and order online. Nothing special. I’ll be replacing my blue plastic ones with aluminum slat ones.
Caninet hardware local hardware store. Mine is good but it’s just basic hardware.
Outside trim is really boat/RV store for most of the stuff. Anything else is either gonna be made or refurbished.
I have all my doors but on the cargo doors a few had to be completely rebuilt as Father Time hammered them.
I did put new tires and will be refurbishing the wheels
I will be making a front vinyl cover like a car bra. I’ll post that too.
The other big project is installing turn signals on the side of the trailer not just the back.
Will have pics soon of the progress

Re: 1989 Avion 34XB project
Thanks for the update and welcome back. Sounds like you're making some good progress. Regarding the bearing buddies, someone once recommended not using them on a trailer with brakes. It's been awhile, but I believe their concern may have been that grease could potentially get on the brakes when pumping it. Is that a possibility? Their other justification was that a once a year or two repacking of the bearings was a good opportunity to inspect the brakes.
