Last scheduled trip for the year

Post by Razorback »

Well, we made it to Branson earlier this afternoon. It was a cold one today, in the 30's driving here, currently 21 according to the Weather Channel, on it's way to 18 or so tonight.

This is the coldest camping we have done, and I am sooooooooo glad we have a nicely-insulated Avion! When we first got here I warmed up the trailer to 70 with the furnace and the Wave 8 heater. Before leaving for the evening I turned off the Wave 8, set the furnace to 60, and turned on the Vornado on high and left it running while we were gone. I don't know if the furnace came on while we were gone, but when we got back at 11PM the trailer at was a nice 65 or so! Kicked on the furnace and the Wave 8 to get back to 70, now sitting here toasty warm with the Wave 8 and the Vornado! We will probably just keep the Vornado on when we go to bed, and set the furnace at 60. Two of the best purchases we have made are the Wave 8 ($60 on CL) and the Vornado (FREE from work!).

Until I can get a Kimberly wood stove, this is about as good as it gets, I suppose.

I cannot imagine trying to do this in an Airstream...... sooooooo glad my dad showed me the benefits of Avion over Airstream..... he had both.

There's definitely something rewarding about winter camping. I use ours all winter in some really cold temps.

Cold but nice weekend! The Christmas shows (It's a Wonderful Life, and A Dickens' Christmas Carol) and lights at Silver Dollar City were fun and beautiful. They really added lots of lights this season!
