Reflectors for 1984 30R

Post by KYAvion »

The amber and red oblong reflectors on my 1984 are 4" x 1 15/16" with a screw spacing at 3" on center. Has anyone found a direct replacement?

So far, striking out. As you have probably seen, the new standard seems to be 4.4"x1.9", with screw holes approx. 4" apart.

Still looking.

I may have to bump up to the larger size. No luck after multiple searches.

While I'm at it, I may just replace the reflectors with actual LEDs. I wonder why they went with reflectors to begin with.

Not sure.... probably had something with the minimum requirements from DOT. LED lights would look nice, and I would imagine that wiring them up would not be super difficult if you have access to the junction at the underneath front of the trailer.... or, maybe you could power the new ones using the ones on the lower rear corners as a source?
