Entry Step Cover

Post by KYAvion »

Could someone post pics of their entry step cover? Mine is missing and I'm thinking of fabricating something.

Thanks. So it looks like there are a couple clasps on either side to hold it in place. When not in use, does it hinge under the first step?

I will get a picture of the hinge area. If I remember correctly, there is a metal bar that is part of the frame of the step assembly that the hinge is fastened to.

Those clasps are the same type used for the compartment covers along the lower edge of the trailer. One of these days, I want to replace all of mine with ones made of stainless steel:

Thanks. Does the cover serve as the bottom step?

Nope... the cover just hangs down when it is open. The original one is made from plastic of some sort .
You might call Mr. Cayo to see if he has any for sale.

Thanks. I see what's happening now. It simply hinges back before the step is opened up. At first I was thinking it folded down with the bottom step, but I see it operates independently.
Thanks again.
