So I finally ordered this, and did so without looking at the actual dimensions. I got it in the mail today, and it is WAY too large. I’m not sure about other trailers, but this is way to big for the door holder on my 84 30R.

Some time ago, I made note of Dorman 42051 PCV grommet as a good replacement for the rubber in the door hold-open.

Funny you mentioned that. I actually placed an order for that same part through O’Reilly’s earlier this evening.

I got these dimensions off of Rock Auto..... ID: 0.470"; O.D.: 1.478"; Thickness: 0.534". Only $1.93 there. Might order a couple next time I need something..

I thought I’d show some of the stupid crap I see with online stores living in Alaska. I was looking around the internet for this rubber door holder and I came across a site that had it fairly cheap ($1.69) so I added it to my cart and input my zip code for the shipping information. This is what they showed.

So for an item that cost less than two bucks and would fit in a padded envelope they wanted as the first option $95.97 for shipping. The cheapest way they offer is $37.86 for GROUND SHIPPING which is 22+ times the cost of the item. One of the crazy perks of living in Alaska .

I will second that this grommet works. I just received one and installed it and it works like a champ. You do need a little lube to get it into the groove but it goes in pretty easily once all lubed up.

You’re welcome. Thanks for having the info to begin with.
Update: this holder works extremely well. I guess my old one wasn’t working as well as I thought because I was able to close the door from inside the trailer just by pulling on the handle. I can’t do that anymore I have to be outside to pull on the door by the holder otherwise it doesn’t release. In other words, it holds really well.
