1987 34W - Roof caps for the plumbing vents

Post by Razorback »

Thought I would post a pictorial of the caps I installed on the plumbing vents on our 1987 34W. The original (Plastic? Fiberglass?) covers had weathered badly over the years, to the point where they were very brittle and cracked easily.
Remedied that with two galvanized caps (Danco item 88182) from Lowes https://www.lowes.com/pd/Danco-Stainles ... ap/3132681 (their listing says "stainless", but it's really galvanized). They are less than $10 each and look fantastic on the trailer. In addition, all you need is 8 aluminum rivets for 2 caps (more, as desired) and some ParBond to seal the base of the cap.
Hopefully these pictures will add in the proper order.

This is great info! Thanks for sharing it. I will replace our vents as soon as the weather warms up.
