I tow at 80% of the rated capacity. My Nissan armada is rated to tow max 9000 lbs. My 30 R has 7000 on the axles and about 600 on the tongue. My gross is 8500 I think. By towing at 80% or less, I am a lot easier on the Armada. If the trailer brakes do not work, tow slow, brake early, leave a big gap. You can do this as long as you do not make a habit of it. I used to drive 3 loads a day at 80,000 lbs into Orlando. I looked ahead and slowed down before others did. Watch a mile down the highway if you can, when the brakes go on, get off the gas immediately. You can always speed up.

Since it is now July I am coming into this conversation after the movie is most likely over.

How did the move work out?

Brakes are required by law. Be very careful. Remember you need a battety for your breakaway switch to work.
