Solar Panel Installation

Post by ericlarson »

I wanted to say hello to this forum. I am the third owner of a vintage 1988 34 XB basement model. The previous two owners have kept this coach in remarkably good condition. Look for my future questions about how to secure solar panels to roof, removing/upgrading the charge /converter (How in the heck does one get to it?) as well as replacing or repairing awnings.
Me name is Eric and my Avion calls SoCal home.
Safe travels to all. Please notify me about any Avion gatherings planned.

Hey Eric,

My wife and I had a 1990 34XB for several years. The XB is a very comfortable Avion.

I am inserting a link to the best solar panel installation I have seen. I am coping the install of the panels on our 30R. This week I am working on installing four AGM batteries, fuses, and two solar controllers.

I will warn you that doing a solar diy installation, correctly, takes a long time.

Best regards,

Russ

That's really interesting, thank you for sharing.
Now that the aerial is off the roof, I'm seeing the potential of the space left. It would be nice to able to use the coax penetration point as the wire run, but that would probably involve more disassembly than I'm ready to do on the Avion.

Has anyone here added solar?
