12 volt kill switch

Post by KYAvion »

So I was running off the batteries and had some lights on, two fantastic fans running, and the bathroom fan on. I start the water for a shower, and the 12v kill switch trips. I try it again, but each time the water pump kicks on the breaker trips. Once I turned out some lights (kitchen, a couple overhead lights, and the valence lights), all worked fine.

I suspect the breaker is probably bad, so I'll replace it and see out it goes. Unfortunately my Avion isn't home with me now and I didn't check the breaker type before leaving, so can anyone tell me the brand and size of the breaker?

Here is the picture.

Also sent the picture and an inquiry to Carling to see if they still carry it (or can point me to a distributor).

BTW, why do you think it is that this breaker doesn't trip when I'm running a similar load and plugged into 110v. Of course the converter is converting 110 to 12v, but isn't that 12v load still running through that 30 DC breaker?

Not sure how to answer your question.

As you can see in the picture, there is a black area at the top edge of the label. There are numbers in that area that I cannot make out. Can anyone here possibly look at theirs and see what their label shows?

Received this reply from Carling.....

"Hi Paul,
I found a distributor Spemco Specialties that has the breaker in stock with a white handle. Part number AA1-B0-34-630-3B1-C.
Here is the link where you can order it: http://spemco.com/aa1-b0-34-630-3b1-c-c ... r-30-amps/"

Do a web search on the part number.... you might find it cheaper.
