I don't recall having to resize photos that I put in my posts. I'll go back and check.
I looked at all of the attachments I have posted..... just browsing through the first page showed that I have posted several attachments that are well over 250KB..... a lot of them are over 1M.

Must be the moderator status. I'll look into this to see what we can get worked out.

Moving this to a new forum for site feedback and help.

Still looking into how to address this issue. I agree it's a nuisance to have to resize to post an image.

I am still waiting for an answer to see if there is a more automated solution, but in the meantime I found an app for the iPhone/iPad that makes resizing a group of photos pretty easy. It's called Batch Resizer 2, and selecting a width of 800 pixels and jpeg quality of 70% should do the trick. One nice thing about this app is it shows the files sizes.

If anyone has any good apps for other devices, or a better app for the iPhone/iPad, please post them here as well.

Something else to keep in mind with this board vs Facebook is that any threads with pics outlining projects are organized and easily searchable. Facebook, on the other hand, is more just for the moment and doesn't lend itself to being accessible by others in the future.

I finally figured out a way to do in on my Mac. In Preview/tools/adjust size. Width or height cannot be greater than 90 pixels.

Not sure about other photos, the only one I uploaded was from a Facebook post and I'm sure it was properly sized.

Where is your username and Avion information at the bottom of the post entered, is that a signature set up in the User Control Panel?

Thanks,

Dale- I'm glad you figured out a method that works for you. I believe the pixel width required will vary depending on the file type and level of compression. That app I referenced seems to do well if pixel width is set at 800 and JPEG quality at 70. Another easy option if your software allows it is to set the DPI at 72, which will GREATLY reduce the file size. The only time a DPI greater than 72 is needed (e.g., 300 DPI) is if one wants to print the image.
