Onan Generator

Post by wncavion »

New to this Forum, We bought some property and it came with a 1984 34-W trailer! My question is: did these trailers ever come equipped with generators? This trailer has a Onan generator that looks factory installed.

Also came with the owners manual but there is no reference to generators at all? It's located to the left of the door, I still don't even know were the fuel tank is located!
Any help would be appreciated.

To my knowledge, they never came from the factory with a generator. If that is a 34W, and the generator is to the left of the door, someone had to have added that louvred opening there and installed the generator below that dinette seat. That is a fridge vent.... you should have an identical one on the other side of the trailer behind the fridge.

I don't like that set-up at all, but that's just me. I would make double-sure that it is installed properly, and that no carbon monoxide can get into the trailer.

I would check the exhaust routing. If there is me make sure none of the coupl8ngs leak. If there isn5 make one that routes the exhaust gasses up or out away from th3 trailer. You can even make it detachable and clamp on temp while camping.

As far as I know I have never seen a Avion with a factory generator
