1973 ? 25 foot Avion

Post by Brian Flowers »

I have agreed to purchase a 1973 25 foot bumper pull camper , wondering about the serial # which is 74 - L - 25045 , mf date 10 / 73
is this a 74 or 73 year model . I am purchasing it from a friend , very cheap , it is original and in need of some body work on the drivers side .
some one caught a parking lot post with it just before the front axle . it ( slightly bent the axle , which I can take out and have straightened )
the wheel well and body aluminum was also damaged . he bought all the material ( original ) to repair it .so I get that as well . my Wife and I live in
Nebraska , about an hour west of Omaha . really looking forward to repairing this camper and using it . also wanting to meet other Avion camper owners
as well . I will am sure I will need some pointers on repair work .
Thank you

Welcome to the forum, Brian. Glad to have you here!

Keep us updated on the work you do.

Your trailer would be a 1974 model year, La Grande.

Thanks a bunch . 74 year would settle my curiosity , was not sure at first since mf. date was 10 / 73 .
so , serial # would break down to 74 / L / 25045 , 74 model year , L , not sure what L stands for , 25045 , 25 would be 25 foot
045 , would be 45th trailer made ? . I will keep the forum updated as I proceed with repairs . replacing about 6 to 8 ft. of outside skin ,
a few ribs , some work on the wheel well , have to remove the stove / sink cabinet , and closet next to that , to be able to work on the inside .
I will remove axle to have straightened would be my first project , so I have it on a stable base , and make it easier to move .
not sure how to post pics but would like to so other forum members can see what my Avion project looks like and to post
pics of my progress .

until next time
