Hi
Hi
Just registered today. I currently own a '79 Argosy 7.3 Minuet by Airstrean. Completely rebuilt from the axles up, but now thinking I'd like to get a 23 or 24 foot Avion. The Argosy is nice as it's only 7' wide and tows well. Could use a bit more room and the higher quality of the Avion vs the Airstream is a deffinate plus.
Re: Hi
Welcome to the forum and thank you for signing up! Glad to have you here!
A patient wait for a nice Avion will reward you in the end. And you definitely get more bang for the buck with an Avion. I am glad that Airstream is there for those who want or like them, and for those who cannot or won't look past the herd.
For the REST of us, I am certainly glad that Avion's are still around to be had.
Keep us posted on your search, and I will keep my eyes open. Any ideas of what year(s) of Avion's you would like?

Re: Hi
While I still recommend the Avion, there must be something leading to the popped rivets. What are you towing with and what's your weight distribution bar rating? Also, what condition are your axles in? I had a 79 Airsteam that I fully restored and it towed wonderfully.

Re: Hi
KY: tow vehicle is a 4 runner. Unit weighs 3600 loaded incl 20 gals of water. Axles are 2 yrs old. I only use a tow bar.
Interior rivets popping on Airstreams is not unheard of. The Minuets are very lightly built. On mine
all of the interior furniture bulkheads etc are aluminum. I've adjusted the tire psi down to 33 lbs. After cleaning
the frame I doubled the thickness of the pan to help overall stiffness. All in all it's a very nice easily towed trailer. I've put about 18,000 miles on her in 6 yrs. sometimes natl parks can get rough.

Re: Hi
Here is a nice 1967 model... not perfect, but maybe promising. Not sure if you like this style, or how far away you are.
