Re: 9.7 Meter Triple Axle 1979 Avion Floor Rebuilding

We purchased our '88-30P in 2017. We went through an 18 month restoration process. I had two major sources of water damage. The 1st was a long-leaking toilet that took out the floor and parts of the sub-frame. The other was condensation delivered either directly or indirectly to wood and metal parts...

Re: Direct Replacement Shocks for Adjust A Ride?

I did a deep-dive through my files and found the shock absorber order. The Monroe Gas Magnum part number is, in fact, 555001.

I purchased them through Amazon on 8/7/17. The cost for 4 with tax was $151.00.

Good luck!

Re: Direct Replacement Shocks for Adjust A Ride?

I purchased Monroe shock absorbers for our 88 30P in 2017. Like you, I had no part number to go by. I went to their website. There is a chart that enabled me to plug in certain cook-book dimensions of what I had. The results produced a Monroe part number based up on this information. When the parts ...

Re: '88 Avion Adjust-A-Ride Grease Cap Size

Unfortunately, I cannot measure our trailer. It has aluminum wheels with a center cover that masks the bearing caps. However, by process of elimination, Razorback reported that Avion converted to 6K axles (were 5.2K), in 1978 through 1988. We have a '88 30P with twin axles. Second, When I replaced t...

Re: 9.7 Meter Triple Axle 1979 Avion Floor Rebuilding

I don't recall the hearing of incidents or reading manufacture data sheets on the presence of asbestos in 2-part, closed cell, polyurethane spray-foam. Yes, we used masks and protective clothing when foaming in walls in buildings. The reaction of the two chemicals as it is applied creates conditions...

Have you measured the OD of an existing cap at the hub end?

Re: Furnace Pilot/ ON/OFF Switch

Moving forward, I suggest transitioning to a water heater with electronic ignition. I don't know the point in time when Avion switched from pilot to electronic firing. Our 88 30P came with electronic so I'm happy with that. I did replace our water heater with a tankless model. The jury is still out ...

Re: 9.7 Meter Triple Axle 1979 Avion Floor Rebuilding

I had an insulation business as my 2nd career. We sprayed a lot of foam insulation. The wall and ceiling cavities in your trailer (and mine) were sprayed with 2-part, closed cell, low expansion polyurethane foam. It provided the greatest R-value per inch and added structural stiffness for the side w...
