Re: New owner, 1967 Avion H25 tandem

Congratulations! Avions are (in my not so humble opinion :D) the best travel trailer ever made, and the late 60's body style is IMO one of the nicest looking Avions ever made. And a 25 ft Avion is very nice as it can be pulled by large SUVs. 1960's Avions with that distinctive endcap and MohrRyde su...

Re: Water heater wiring diagram

It certainly seemed that way. What other parts manufacturer do you recommend? (I plan to change the furnace next year).

Re: Tow vehicles

This is my opinion and is worth 2 cents :) Truck manufacturers advertise half-ton trucks as having 12,000# tow rating, but IMO, a pickup with curb weight of 5500# is too lightweight to pull anything more than 7500# comfortably (A 34 Avion, travel ready, should easily be over that). If you travel in ...

Re: Water heater wiring diagram

Salty, That explains the color discrepancy as Dometic is (or was) a Swedish company. BTW, I connected the wires this morning (WH Brown to trailer Yellow, WH Green to trailer White, WH Blue to trailer Blue), turned the water and LP on, and started the WH via the switch on control panel. It ignited an...

Re: Water heater wiring diagram

Salty, This is why I always write down the problem description :) Many times, when you or others read it again, you find a solution to the problem. So, I have already verified that yellow wire is 12V. I used my volt/ohm meter and there is zero resistance between the white wire and the ground on the ...

Re: Water heater wiring diagram

Thanks Silverloaf, My water heater wires are green, brown, and blue. I wish there was some sort of standard there :) Wires coming out of the trailer wall are white, yellow, and blue (similar to yours). However, using a volt meter, I have verified that the yellow wire is 12V. So, per wiring diagram, ...

Re: Water heater wiring diagram

wiring.png Salty, Sorry, forgot to mention that. Its an Atwood G6A-8E, Direct Spark Ignition, 6 Gallon Water Heater. Dometic said its a direct replacement for Atwood G6A-2E, which was installed at the factory. I scanned the wiring digram page. But it seems the site shrinks the images after they are...

Water heater wiring diagram

Hi folks, I've bought an Atwood water heater and have a question about the wiring :) The water heater came with its own switch. But, I already have a switch for the water heater in the control panel (in front of the trailer) that I'd like to use. So, I am not using the switch provided with the WH. I...

Re: Reverse battery polarity. Help!

Thanks Silverloaf, When on shore power, I can run the AC and what relies on 12V (lights/fans/water pump/LP detector/etc) also work. So, I guess that good news. My control panel does not have the switch you mentioned. However, when I physically disconnected the battery (while shore power was connecte...
