Re: Axle issue

Well I was finally able to find a local machine shop that was able to remove the old and then weld my new spindle into the one problem axle. It looked like they did a pretty good job but my camber looked off when I installed it so I ended up moving that one axle to the next highest hole on the cente...

Re: Suspension update

Mark, What gauge wire did you run to your axles? Thanks, Landon Landon, I used 12 gauge marine wire. I ended up removing the wire nuts that I had bought for this project because once I had it all put together I wasn’t getting any brake voltage to the rear brakes. Ended up that one of the wires had ...

Re: Floor repair

Just a quick thought on front floor curves and templates. During a fix to the front wall/window area I removed the upper cabinet from the fiberglass cap. As I was reassembling it all, I had laid the bottom of that unit on the floor and low and behold it’s the exact shape as the floor. So anyone that...

Re: flipping the axles

The way my axles are set up they sit on top of the springs so blocks between them would actually lower the trailer. The shear issue was one of the problems that I had thought of. I was just thinking online with this question to see what anyone else thought. I’m not sure it would work as I’ve never s...

Re: 12VDC refrigerators

Something else struck me. The original fridge in my trailer was an RM1303, The cutout height for that fridge is listed as 57 1/2". I see 10 Cu. Ft. listed at 59+ inches Dunno that you could wedge one of those in that space. I'm currently using a small standard refrigerator because money had to...

flipping the axles

I was pondering last night about the possibility of flipping the axle from a drop to a rise. if you were to weld on a new spring mount plate it looks like it should just flip right over giving a 4" rise for easier boon docking. Since these trailers have independent suspension the camber isn't b...

Re: Suspension update

Yeah those aluminum supports had broke loose and had punctured the belly skin near the frame, that’s how I noticed that they needed attention. My center tank looks like it could use a good cleaning but that’s going to have to wait until next year. After all I don’t have the water heater installed or...

Re: Goodyear Wrangler

Yeah the nearest Wallyworld to me is around 2 hours away. I haven’t shopped there in many years. Tire rack wants as much as the price of the tires to ship them to me here. One of the perks of living in Alaska in a small town I guess.

Re: Goodyear Wrangler

I tried my best to get Goodyear tires locally but the only place that carried them wanted over 200.00 each plus installation. The other tires they had were all made in China and they were D rated and still wanted $135.00 each plus installation. So I ended up buying slightly better Chinese tires E ra...

Suspension update

After I got all my axle pieces parts off the trailer I noticed that the frame had a coating on it that was coming off in most places. Seemed to be some kind of rubber coating and it was a pain to remove but I managed. I heard of others using a coating on the frame that I can’t get where I live. So, ...
