Re: Battery Charging

The 12V converter section of the power center provides a 12V DC charging line to the batteries. There is a good diagram on page 76 of the 1987 owners manual. I would think the 1988 models were similar if not identical. Page 54 has a comment about that kill switch.

Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires

The trailer was hitched to the truck and the installer lifted it at the point just in front of the right front tire…. And, yes, all three of the tires on the right side lifted off of the ground.

Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires

That is where I always place a jack, with a chunk of treated wood and/or a piece of bar stock against the bottom edge of that box steel to spread the load. There is a picture or two here that shows how I supp...

Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires

Here’s an observation from when the tire shop was replacing that front right tire: the guy used one of those heavy floor jacks along with a block of treated wood between the jack and the frame….. lifted the entire right side of the trailer!!! He said, “You don’t see THAT every day!!”

Got home from Baton Rouge this evening. On our way through Mansfield, AR I stopped and had the same tire shop install another Gremax tire on the right front to get rid of the last Hi-Run tire.
Also, I noticed a busted leaf spring behind that right front tire, so there’s another project……

For the dehumidifier, we have a Norpole NPDH301…. 30 pint. It is amazing how well it works.

Re: Still trying to settle on the best tires

I have a feeling the trailer will be ok. If our Avions didn’t have such an awesome suspension, I might research that more. I doubt I would install the Gremax’s on an Airstream, though. Just an opinion. Our Avions are built like a tank compared….
