Great stuff, glad to hear this is a good solution for you too.

My backup plan was to find a water heater floor pan, but those are galvanized. I like the cake pan option a lot more. Looking forward to seeing the results on both of these!!!

Re: Excellent tutorial on replacing Avion window rubber trim

Talked to Cayo today and he said try putting the gaskets that work for the other windows in "hot soapy water" for 5-10 mins to see if it will seat. He said in so many words he is not in the business of selling that stuff anymore, and referred me to another supplier to buy some if I need mo...

Re: Vent Lid - 87 34V - Making from Fiberglass

I just ordered a couple aluminum square cake pans - 18x18x2 to see if they will replace the ones I have that have cracked. If they don't fit....THEN WE EAT CAKE - it's a win:win. https://merchantsbakerysupplies.com/products-page/cake-pans-supplies/square-pan-18-x-18-x-2/ After shipping they're $40 e...

Re: Porch light

We removed ours and refurbished the socket inside and put new lenses on the originals. Can get the lenses still for $12 here: https://odmrv.com/catalog/index.php?mai ... ts_id=1243

The chrome isn't like new but otherwise functions awesome with the LED bulbs we put in there.

Re: Excellent tutorial on replacing Avion window rubber trim

Take note that they have not been able to locate the front and rear window trims for the curved glass per their comment below: "Special note-JULY 2020: We have yet to find the correct new replacement glass bead for our curved front and rear windows. We are sending a sample to a Pelland and Inte...

Re: Rub rail/Beltline insert..... sources?

Ended up using AP Products 011-312 Black 1" to replace the lower rub rail and looks great. It should also fit the rails around the windows too. 10 cents per foot.

Re: Rub rail/Beltline insert..... sources?

I am looking to replace my lower rub rail insert finally. I tried a sample of the AP Products 011-367 and it was about 0.25 inches narrow...but have used this stuff around the Hehr windows on my 1980 34V perfectly.

Appreciate if anyone has advice besides "calling Cayo" - thank you!

Re: Replacement Mirror Latch

What did you end up doing here? I looked at alternative latches but got nervous about drilling holes into the back panel holding the mirror. JB Weld the magnet plate onto the back panel?

Appreciate any input. Thank you.

Re: Replacing Exterior Metal

I haven't seen any mention of the actual metal used to replace the anodized panels, and appears that the 0.040 sheet of 5005 aluminum is the same grade and quality as original. Not sure why I haven't seen this before, but was doing some research after I saw an '88 34W for sale with significant panel...
