Re: Tankless Water Heater

Latest update on the tank-type water heater: When the Suburban 6255AEB Water Heater arrived, I didn't realize the service door was too small to cover the existing hole. I sent it back to Amazon. I contacted United RV in Dallas. They pointed me to the Suburban RV Water Heater SAW6DE. This is actually...

Re: Upgrading 12v and 120v panels

Glad you have a ventilation strategy. I dealt with a lot of condensation and mold issues in homes during my 2nd career. Some things I never forget.

Re: Trim Moulding

Here are the sources I used for the seals and covers around the window. Both have a wide variety of different products. Top Seal Hehr 7900 Top Seal Part # H009-482 $4.48 per lineal foot www.pellandent.com Might need a few daubs of silicone caulk to hold it securely in place Glazing Bead 1/8" Gl...

Re: Leaf springs for our 1987 34W

I vaguely remember there might be a part number stamped into the main leaf.

Re: Upgrading 12v and 120v panels

One thing that comes to mind is the potential build-up of condensation during winter months. In my experience, foam board can be a 2-edged sword. Any thoughts or concerns about this?

Re: Leaf springs for our 1987 34W

I recall replacing one curbside spring on our 30-P in 2017. It wasn't broken but it fell outside the pivot point centerline specs. It wasn't much but it did indicate the spring was softening. I did a lot of research back then. Springs are spec'ed out based upon the width, number and thickness of lea...

Re: Trim Moulding

I have managed to find all of the seals and screw covers for our Avion windows. I'm in the process of doing the install now. I can share the sources, part numbers and current pricing if anyone is interested.

Re: Battery Charging

It's been a while since I went through the owners manual. Thanks for the reminder.

By the way, have you ever replaced the converter? Mine appears to be OEM. It seems to working fine but time is not on its side.

Battery Charging

Does current from shore power through the converter charge the battery? When I was replacing the battery leads to the trailer during restoration, I don't recall seeing a path for the converter to charge the battery. Also, I distinctly remember a note in the Avion manual that damage could occur if th...

Re: Tankless Water Heater

After doing further study, I decided to revert back to a 6-gallon tank water heater. Even though the tankless units have improved significantly in the past 7 years, there seems to be mixed reviews on their function and performance. The newer heaters now activate when water flow 0.5 gpm is achieved, ...
