Re: Window rubber seals, gaskets, covers, etc
Hey everyone, been awhile please pardon my absence. I know y’all missed me terribly 😉. The Avion is still going strong but some other developments have occupied my attention, namely a gifted 1980 FJ40 and some land we bought in the mountains of New Mexico (sawmill). I just received a pm from a fello...

Re: Bargman L400
I finally have a quote back on the latch. Cost is $125 + tax & shipping. I'll be have a finalized drawing this week and then the lead time is three weeks. The price is based on a five piece order, and I'm taking two, so that leaves the remainder up for grabs. @RISK are you still up for a pair? ...

Re: Full timing in the ‘86 34W
Doesn’t look factory and I can’t imagine what would be there except for a misplace vent stack judging by its size. One sure way to tell if it was a booboo from the factory is if the rivets are bucked or not. Look carefully as Olympic rivets are designed to looked like bucked rivets but they’ll have ...

Re: Everbrite vs Toonbrite
Looks interesting and possibly easier to apply than everbrite?
I may have to try it on my SilverStreak as she is pretty heavily oxidized.
Thanks for the heads up.

Re: PSA - Watch your Swingout!!
Just curious so I can visualize this better—about how many feet is the elm from the side of his driveway? About 15 feet or less? Just trying to imprint this in my brain so I never do this! Hey there, Thought I posted a reply to this... The tree in question is just a couple feet off the driveway clo...

Re: PSA - Watch your Swingout!!
He neglected to account for a large cedar elm (kid screaming, wife jabbering. His words...) as he was turning right out of his driveway and forgot about the significant swing out of a 31’ trailer. He said he didn’t feel it until the tree “released” him and that’s when he knew. I priced out the repla...

Re: Rub rail/Beltline insert..... sources?
I made one with aviation snips and some thin gauge aluminum I got from Lowe’sDepot.
I cut it a wee oversized and filed it to the correct fit.

PSA - Watch your Swingout!!
Most of on here are seasoned and confident in our towing abilities but a little reminder of our fallibility every so often is wise to embrace. Case in point: my neighbor, who is a long time boat trailer puller, neglected to account for the additional swing out when pulling his mother in law’s airstr...

Re: Exterior rivets?
When I pulled out the inner skin of my airstream above a rotted out section of floor I discovered a fairly significant repair that had been done sometime in the trailers past. It looked like the whole quarter panel and maybe the wing window was replaced. They used Olympic rivets and every one leaked...
